Humans living among other sentient life forms in space, but being too tiny to properly communicate with other species, and instead being regarded like bees or ants. Alien internet being full of questions like “hey what are these weird, almost geometric growths that have appeared on the corner of my residence?” and someone else answers “that looks like a human colony! I wouldn’t call an exterminator unless they start causing some serious trouble, human colonies are pretty good at getting rid of other, more harmful pests and bugs in your house, so for as long as you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you.”
“Uh is this structure related to the humans? It doesn’t look like the rest of the colony parts, and they occasionally drag dead bugs and things to it and just leave them there.”
“Oh, it looks like you’ve got worshipper humans! They aren’t any specific type or subspecies, sometimes colonies just do that. Just clean their little sacrifices away on a regular basis, and they’ll be perfectly fine. Try not to disturb the structure, though, someone I know tried to destroy it, but they re-built it bigger each time. Nobody knows why they do that sometimes, but as long as you take the little sacrifices away before they bring a new one and don’t break apart any of their other structures, they’ll be fine.”
I’m jealous of those who can function like a normal human being. They don’t have anxiety holding them back from everything, they don’t struggle to get out of bed or have to put on an act that everything is fine when its not. They don’t struggle to hold friendships and relationships… they don’t feel sad for no fucking reason everyday. Those that can hold jobs and work towards their dreams, the ones who have self esteem and see the beauty in themselves. Those that know what its like to feel safe and secure, not insecure and fearful of it all.
i am tired. i am exhausted. from my head to my soul to my bones i am so fucking tired.
